Social Enterprise Tools

During the Ideas Into Action programme, there will be a number of tools which we will use and that have been specifically designed to help you in developing your social enterprise or non-profit.

The three tools that we will use the most are the **Roadmap Tool, Social Business Plan Tool** and **Worksheet for Social Business.** These are all kept in your Google Drive Folder.

🛑 Remember, these are your tools to use as you like! Your SPARK officer will help you to navigate them, but you are in charge as to what goes into them and how you want to focus your organisation.

The Roadmap Tool This tool is designed to help you to look at the bigger picture of your social business, and what areas you need to focus on. The Roadmap helps you break down the business into business areas, and by months of the year in order to prioritise certain areas ahead of big milestones to achieve your goals.

You will see a checklist of everything you need to do before you start trading to ensure you are trading safely.

You can access your Roadmap Tool by clicking here 🖱️

The Social Business Plan Tool This tool is designed to help you to prepare your vision & mission statements, as well as your values. You can introduce the team and show how your business will be run and importantly, show the impact and the finances of the social business.

Funders, partners, supporters and beneficiaries will want to see your social business plan at some point, so it is a good idea to start it early.

You can access your Social Business Plan Tool by clicking here 🖱️

Worksheet for Social Business The Worksheet is designed for you to start thinking about your team of staff & volunteers you might need. It is also the place to start thinking about the importance of partnerships & networks and how you might find and approach them to reach your goals.

This sheet is designed to be a creative process, which can help you to really think about what you most need organisational from a team and from potential partners & supporters.

Here is how you get SPARK support:

Before the sessions, please read the above information, and any suggested information pages and watch any relevant training videos which will give you all the information that you will need to know about the tools provided and the process to follow. This way, we can maximise the sessions for productivity and any clarifying questions you may have, or further support on certain work areas.

In your SPARK sessions, the SPARK team member supporting you will also explain how to use the tools to be able to complete certain topics that work with external designers and developers. Most of the work will happen outside of these sessions, but please bring any questions or specific areas of support that you need into these sessions. Please book a meeting with Lucas & Bejoseholo here where there is a question that will ask you what exactly you want to work on in the session, as well as what specifically you want to discuss about that topic.

🛑 First, think what topic from the below list you need support on. Once you know, there are two ways of getting SPARK support:

Option 1: Quick response on your 📲 WhatsApp Group

If it is a “quick” question – ask us in your WhatsApp Channel – we will reply within 24h (on working days) – this is normally a good first step :)

On certain topics (e.g. branding, website development, legal documents) the SPARK meeting can trigger a new process for you, for example working with our brand and website developers. Check out the detailed text below for each topic category to understand what the process looks like. We will explain these processes to you in the call and on your WhatsApp channel.

Option 2: 📅Book a one-on-one video call session with SPARK team

If you know that you need deeper support on your topic of choice, book a 30 or 45-minute SPARK Meeting 👇 (video call on Google Meets).

You need to select who your SPARK Officer, Lucas or Bejoseholo, is as you schedule the call, so make sure to click the right SPARK officer!

You can book up to 1 session per week.
