Organisations often get external contractors to create copyright works for their business (such as videos to advertise the business, or material to put on a website). It is really important that the business agrees on who will own the copyright before the work is created. Some businesses commission work only to later find out that the creator still owns the copyright, meaning the business is limited in how it can use it.
All your contracts with employees and independent contractors (even interns/volunteers) should include confidentiality obligations and robust, carefully drafted provisions to transfer IP created in the course of their employment or project to your business.
